Farmer's Market

We are cozy and festive in the pavilion for our holiday season! I am in a slightly different location than during the summer season. You'll find me under the heaters a little further inside. It's delightful to warm your hands in my suitcases of toasty cashmere.

I'll be at the market every Saturday through Christmas for all your remarkable gifts and personal warmth.

Free Mending Workshop at WWU

  • Viking Union 565 A/B, Western WA University (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Bring your favorite clothes that need a little TLC or just stop in to pick up skills that you will use again and again. It's relaxing (and empowering!) to take a little time to care for your clothes.

I am providing buttons, fabric and darning yarn as well as the tools like needles, thread and scissors to help you make minor repairs. We can reinforce toes and heels in socks, darn moth holes, patch your jeans and shirts, restitch seams and sew buttons.

We will NOT be tackling projects that involve specialty fabrics(like leather or outdoor fabrics), zippers, or sewing machines.

Thanks to Western's Department of Sustainability and the Eco Reps for organizing this event and keeping it Free for you!

p.s. you do not need to be enrolled at WWU to attend!

Home for Hank

Our young friend Hank has muscular dystrophy. His body will be changing and needing extra support in the coming years. He will eventually use a wheelchair and other special equipment as the disease progresses. His home needs a lot of work so he can stay comfortable and as independent as possible through the changes.

Join us at make.shift for a family friendly fundraiser to give his whole family some extra support! The art auction is full of work by my local favorites. There will be kids Kareoke, a square dance and I expect just a lot of being full hearted together.

Opening Day of Market

I am so excited for the return of the weekly farmer's market. I'll be inside the pavillion again next to all that yummy coffee, tea and treats… The bell rings at 10am with a few speeches and the annual cabbage toss (which is literally just the mayor tossing a cabbage to someone.)

I hope the mayor uses one of these adorable softball sized cabbages for the opening toss.
